| Zeta Tau Alpha was founded on October 15, 1898 at Longwood College, Farmville, Virginia. Our fraternity was the first women's fraternity to be chartered in the state of Virginia and the only one ever to be granted a charter by a special act of legislature.
Fulfilling the mission of Zeta to make a difference in the lives of our members, the Fraternity has developed innovative recruitment and developmental programs as well as quality enrichment programs emphasizing leadership, development, service to others, and academic success. The San Diego Alumnae Chapter is proud to support the goals of our Fraternity with our local community service, fundraising to support the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation and breast cancer awareness and education, and support to the collegiate chapters in southern California.
The San Diego Alumnae Chapter annual membership dues are $45.00. The dues include the national Operating Fees and Second Century Fees remitted to Interational Office, Southern California Federation dues, San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic Dues, and San Diego Alumnae Chapter dues. All dues paid members will receive a membership yearbook. Our fiscal year runs from June 1 through May 31. Dues are payable on August 1st each year. For more information about membership, please contact Heather Warren-Reynolds umzta@yahoo.com.

Member News
Heather Warren-Reynolds and Kenny Reynolds welcomed a son, Finn, to their family. Finn was born on October 17, 2009 weighing in at 9lbs 7oz.
We will be very sad to say good-bye to Helen Ransom and her family in June. They are moving to El Paso, Texas, where Helen’s husband, Jeff, will be starting a full-time Army career as a nurse practitioner at Fort Bliss. We are so very grateful to Helen for all of the service that she has given to our chapter, including two years as President. We’ll miss her greatly and hope that she returns often to visit in San Diego.
We were sad to say good-bye to Brittany Matthews, who left the area to return to her hometown of El Paso, Texas in November. In her short time as a member of our alumnae chapter, Brittany made a big impact by serving as VP-Membership and Alumnae-Collegiate Relations Chair. Brittany indicated a desire to return to San Diego some day, so we will look forward to welcoming her back when the timing is right.
